Improving Your Personal Appearance

How much time do you put into the way you look every day? While this number is different for everyone, investing some time into your appearance can really help you to go out into the world more confidently and feel better about yourself. I started going to spas and salons a few months back, and it was really nifty to see how many services they offered that could really improve my life. I decided that it would be incredible to work with other people to teach them about spas and salons, since they can make you feel renewed and refreshed.

3 Pieces of Advice to Help You Recover from Breast Augmentation Surgery

Lena Griffin

Just because breast implant surgery is an elective surgery doesn't mean that you can skip the recovery period. Breast augmentation is a serious surgery, and as such, it requires a real recovery period. Here are a few ways to prepare for recovery.

1. Be Prepared for the Pain

Breast augmentation surgery will leave you in a little pain and discomfort. It is common to feel like your chest area is really tight or like there is additional pressure on your chest area after your surgery. Your doctor may prescribe some mild pain medication for you to take. If possible, get this filled before your surgery, or arrange to have someone pick up the pain medication from the pharmacy after your surgery. Depending on your level of pain, you may need this medication.

You should also make sure you have some basic over-the-counter pain medication, as well as anti-nauseous medication. You need to allow your body to heal, and dealing with your pain will help your body heal.

2. Plan to Get Lots of Rest

Along with managing your pain, it is important to get lots of rest following your surgery. You need to schedule your time so that you have at least two to three days to just rest following your surgery. Set up your physical area so that you will be able to get lots of rest. That doesn't mean that you have to sleep for three days, but you should take it easy. You have an excuse to binge-watch your favorite shows, catch-up on your reading list, and read those magazines you have not had time to look at.

3. Have Healthy Foods Ready

Although this is your chance to binge-watch your favorite shows, it is not time to binge on food. You may feel nauseous from the anesthesia and may not have much of an appetite the first day after your surgery. At the same time, you need to make sure you are providing your body with food that will give it the energy and strength necessary to get better. Try to have lots of easy to prepare healthy food nearby, such as vegetable soup or smoothies. Also, remember to stay well hydrated and keep a water bottle handy.

If you want a quick recovery following breast augmentation, you need to make sure you are taking care of yourself. Be prepared to deal with your pain, plan to get a lot of rest, and make sure you have healthy foods you can easily prepare to keep up your strength.
