How much time do you put into the way you look every day? While this number is different for everyone, investing some time into your appearance can really help you to go out into the world more confidently and feel better about yourself. I started going to spas and salons a few months back, and it was really nifty to see how many services they offered that could really improve my life. I decided that it would be incredible to work with other people to teach them about spas and salons, since they can make you feel renewed and refreshed.
If you have hair you want to remove from your body, one method of removing that hair is via waxing. When it comes to waxing, it is important to understand that various methods can be used, which all fall under waxing services, which is why it helps to understand the various methods.
Type #1: Warm Soft Wax
Warm soft wax has either a resin base or a cream base. It is used for strip waxing using a cloth strip. The wax is spread over a large area, then a cloth strip is pressed onto the wax and pulled off, with the hairs sticking to the wax.
Warm soft wax can only be applied to an area once, and then one has to move on to another area. This type of wax is usually used on the arms and legs, where large areas of hair can be removed at once. It works well on thin and fine hair.
Type #2: Warm Hard Wax
Warm hard wax is applied in a thick layer to the skin. It should be applied in the direction that the hair grows. The wax shrink-wraps around the hairs, which is why you want the wax to be applied in the hair growth direction so that when the wax is removed, the hair is fully pulled out, and the potential for ingrown hairs is reduced.
With hard wax, no cloth strip is needed to remove the wax. When poured correctly, you can create a little lip with the wax you grab onto and pull.
Warm hard wax is often used on smaller areas, such as the lip, nose, and bikini area. One disadvantage of warm hard wax is that it sometimes needs to be applied multiple times.
Type #3: Pre-Made Wax Strips
Pre-made wax strips use cold soft wax that is attached to a plastic-style strip. With these products, you can apply the strip directly to the area you want to remove the wax. You can warm it up by running the strip between your hands, but the wax itself doesn't have to be warmed up more than that.
This type of wax is easy to use and will not burn your skin. Pre-made wax strips work best for smaller areas, so they only cover a small amount of space.
Type #4: Sugar Wax
Another method is sugar wax. Sugar wax is a waxing method that has been used for many years. It is a very natural form of waxing, as the formula only contains hot water, lemon, and sugar. It is not technically a wax but is often called one, as it is a hair removal method.
It is gentle and allows for multiple passes in the same area without damaging or irritating your skin. It works best with fine and medium hair types and can be used on both small and large areas of one's body.
Sugar wax greatly reduces the chance of ingrown hairs, as the product doesn't tend to get inside hair follicles.
If you have hair you want to remove from your body, it is important to understand the various types of wax that can be used on different parts of the body, to choose the best kind of wax for your particular situation.
